Rock climbing courses in the crags at Lake Garda

The program of our alpine mountaineering courses consists of two days rock climbing in the crags near Lake Garda Italy and following we move for three days to the glacier in the Marmolada Dolomites Alps. Accommodation in Hotel at Lake Garda Italy and in Mountain Lodge Marmolada (HB) are included in the price.

Program of alpine mountaineering courses at Lake Garda and Marmolada

1st day - Meeting point: parking lot at highway exit ROVERETO SUD at 09.00 a.m. or in your Hotel - rock climbing lesson in suitable crag near Lake Garda; we teach different climbing techniques for example: chimney, cracks, slabs; different knots, belaying and rope techniques.

2nd day - Departure from the hotel at 08.30 a.m. - ROCK CLIMBING on multi-pitch route. Different rope manouvres and rappelling exercises.

3rd day - Departure from Hotel to Marmolada Dolomites (2 hrs. by car) - Ascent to glacier - Lesson: correct use of crampons and icepick. Rope manouvres for glacier crossing and rescue from crevasse.
Overnight stay in mountain lodge Marmolada Dolomites Alps.

4th day - Ascent to the highest Top of Marmolada Glacier - Progression of the rope team on the glacier and ascent on a short via ferrata to PENIA PEAK (3.340 m.) - total: ca. 7 hrs.

5th day - Practical lesson: use of alpine equipment, repetition of rope manouvres as well as check of previously acquired knowledge. Alpinguide Climbing School Dolomites Italy (Guides of Trentino) will issue a officially certificate of participation in our courses for each participant indicating the personal results - descent to the valley: ca. 2 hrs.

Important note:

This course is destined for people who love mountain hiking, trekking and via ferrata but would like to extend their knowledge in the rocks and on glaciers in order to being able to proceed in high alpine areas in safety. The program of our alpine mountaineering course consists of two days rock climbing in the crags near Lake Garda Italy and following we move for three days to the glacier in the Marmolada Dolomites Alps. The teaching regards climbing techniques in every ù situation in the mountains, rope manouvres, rappelling and self rescue exercises on the rocks and glaciers in the Alps of Italy.

What to bring with you:

backpack - water - sandwich - windcheater - preferably trekking boots which are suitable for the use with crampons - gloves - hat/cap - sunglasses - hiking sticks - liner.

Technical equipment:

helmet, harness, via ferrata-set, crampons, rope, carabiners, etc., will be provided by the mountain guide and is included in the price. Each participant must bring his own personal backpack which must be big enough to carry your personal belongings as well as the the technical equipment which is described above: we recommend a backpack with a capacity of 45/50 litres.

The reservation should be made by e-mail at least 30 days prior to the start of the course to arco@alpinguide.eu. A deposit payment should made in the amount of EUR 250,00 and the balance must be paid on the first day of the alpine mountaineering course, before the start of the trip.
